3 Chicks That Click loves to photograph events – corporate and family. We’ve photographed many baby showers, as well as anniversary parties (Happy 60th and 62nd parties in one year), reunions, and graduations.
Everyone is excited at a baby shower. The mother to be and her own family, all the kids that were the subjects of their own showers in the past, and those that are planning to start families in the future. Who doesn’t love the tiny clothes, the miniature diapers, the toys, and the various pieces of equipment that one never knew one needed, but somehow, mothers of past generations managed to survive without? Dual breast pumps, we’re talking about you!
While the party itself, or even the baby’s sex, may not be a surprise, it’s definitely surprising for the new mom to see so many people eager to help her and her child get off to a good start. And the joyous anticipation of being “showered” with gifts and love makes a fantastic party.
Of course, an amazing cake helps, too. Custom designed “artistic” cakes are the rage now, and this baby shower was no different. The cake (above) was a maternity dress complete with the tiny baby feet “pushing” out from the belly, and don’t forget the tiny cowboy boots made of fondant!
While no one is exactly sure how this particular tradition got started, no baby shower is complete without a silly hat made of the gifts’ ribbons and decorations. Some moms cringe, and some just go with it – one of those things to look back on in a few years; and then cringe.
And speaking of years to come – when the party is over, the food is gone, the tiny outfits outgrown, the toys discarded, and the diapers no longer needed – what’s left are the photographs. Be sure to have a permanent keepsake of this special day.
You don’t want your images left on the camera’s memory card or worse, on a computer’s hard drive that either crashes or simply gets replaced with a new computer, the images gone forever.
Photo albums, prints, and books will last a lifetime and won’t be made obsolete by any kind of electronic or digital media. Consider having your baby shower or other event documented by a professional photographer who will provide you with a beautiful keepsake that you can show your children when they grow up…and have their own children. And when your child arrives, consider an heirloom infant portrait by Susan Cameron Studios. This isn’t just a snapshot; this is photographic wall art for your home, and something that will be treasured in your family.
Enjoy your family events and parties – 3 Chicks That Click Photography works at your parties so you don’t have to!
